Theresa and John's Branch Museum Wedding in Richmond had a vintage yet modern feel.

Their paths crossed while Theresa performed at the University of Mary Washington, and John attended the performance. A mutual friend introduced the two, and they spoke for a few minutes, realizing they both lived in Richmond, and that was that.

Weeks later, he found her on Facebook and eventually messaged her. After chatting, they realized they had so much in common!

John decided what better place than their home they had made together as the perfect location to propose to Theresa! It was so cozy with just the two of them, making it even more special.

On the wedding day, Theresa stepped into her wedding gown, sharing a few happy tears and moments of laughter with her mom. Once ready, she shared a sweet first look with John. After they took a few moments to themselves, photographers Emily & Stephanie took the opportunity to capture portraits with the couple and the wedding party.

Their ceremony at Grace Baptist Church was beautiful, with the aisles lined with greenery. Theresa walked down the aisle with both of her parents, which was a lovely moment.

As the couple said their vows to one another and exited the church with a kiss, a classic 1953 Bentley greeted them outside. In addition to being a great getaway vehicle, a vintage car is an excellent backdrop for just-married photos.

The Branch Museum is such a wonderful space for a reception, and John and Theresa's florals added to its beauty. As centerpieces, bud flower vases were used, which were the perfect touch.

The venue space is decorated with pieces of art and exhibitions, gorgeous chandeliers, and beautiful architecture. Hosting an event at this location helps support the operations and educational programs while also promoting their mission to the community.

In lieu of a traditional wedding cake, the couple’s had a decadent French croquembouche cake. Because of the crystallized sugar holding it together, John ended up just plucking the top piece off instead of them ‘cutting’ the cake.

For their exit, their guests created a tunnel filled with love and sparklers as the newlyweds left the wedding venue on foot to walk home together to start their new adventure!

Congratulations, John and Theresa! We loved working with you two so much—you guys are truly the best! We wish you all the very best for the happiest of futures together for a lifetime filled with lovely, happy moments together!
