Capturing Ann and Randy's engagement photos at their home filled this Richmond Engagement Photographers' heart!
Randy and Ann met at a Carolina Shag dance class. This partner dance is similar to swing dancing to beach music. Ann had been attending the class for about a year, while Randy was a beginner. The first night they were both there, they were paired together. They immediately connected and quickly learned how much they had in common as both were widows.
On Thanksgiving a few years ago, they enjoyed brunch with Ann's two sons and then met up for dinner with Randy's daughters. On their way home, they were singing along to beach music. The song "With This Ring" came on the radio, and they were joking around about a ring. Little did Ann know that Randy would get down on one knee and propose when they got home!
During their Richmond engagement session, I noticed that these two were constantly holding each other's hands. Randy told me, "That's just what you do when you're in love!" My heart melted! The love these two share is very evident. Their love story shows that it doesn't matter what stage of life you are in, love can be found.
Photographing Randy and Ann in their own home allowed them to be themselves in front of the camera, and they did amazing! Their home sits on beautifully decorated grounds which made the perfect backdrop for pictures. Their lovely back patio provided several places to catch them practicing their dancing or cuddling by the fireplace. Randy also wheeled out their convertible so we could grab some fun photos with that as well.
